Amardeen / Apricot Paste Drink

Amardeen/قمر دين is a refreshing drink especially enjoyed during the month of Ramadan and my husband’s favorite. Made from apricot fruit leather, it’s so easy to prepare and will last in the fridge for a week, that's if you can keep your hands off of it.

  • 1 packet Tazah Dried Apricot Paste 400g
  • liter Boiling Water
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • Ice

  • Cut up the apricot paste into 1 inch pieces using a pizza cutter or knife and add to a bowl.
  • Add the boiling water and let it soak for 4 hours. If you’re in a rush, pop the bowl in the microwave for2 minutes on high. This will help the fruit leather melt. Set aside to cool.
  • Once cooled, add to a blender with sugar and ice and blend until smooth.
  • Serve with a sprinkle of ground pistachio and enjoy!
