In 1893, the Soojian family established the first Armenian bakery in the United States in Lowell, Massachusetts, serving baked foods from the Middle East to Armenian immigrants. In 1936, they resettled in California and renamed the company Ak-Mak Bakeries. Today, four generations later, Ak-Mak remains committed to healthy eating and has been producing healthier products since 1952, starting with the Ak-Mak whole wheat sesame cracker.
