Company History

Pasta has been a staple in Ancient Greek cuisine thousands of  years before Marco Polo’s exploration to Asia, having a significant affect on Mediterranean diet. Ancient Greeks prepared a dish from pasta dough called zimarika, meaning a dough of flour and water, cut into long strips, named laganon. The company EVOIKI ZIMI SA was established in 1984 in the small Greek town of Psachna Evia. At the time, this family owned business was known for the production of traditional pastas, made using traditional homemade recipes and only the finest ingredients.

During the 90’s, Evoiki Zimi expanded its activities to the production of frozen dough products and transferred to owned facilities at Κastella, Euboea in Central Greece. In 2004, Zimi expanded further production to new facilities in the district of Dokos Chalkida.

Today, Evoiki Zimi under the brand names “Zimi Psahnon” and “Zimarika Psahnon” exports their authentic frozen dough product lines across 30 countries worldwide, from Australia to America.

The brand’s success all lies within the authentic ingredients used to create traditional homemade doughs that have been passed down from generation to generation in Greek cuisine. Evoiki Zimi is known for a variety of ready-to-bake and frozen dough products such as fillo pastry, crust fillo pastry and puff pastry, traditional pies and puff pastry pies, pizzas doughs, croissants and more. No wonder you can find Zimi in almost any large supermarket throughout Greece. Be sure to keep an eye out for it during your next trip to your local grocery store or supermarket! 

Quality Production

Since its foundation, the company had aspirations towards exports in response to demand for quality dough products. expatriates customers calls. Along the way, the company to systematize its export activity created an organized Exports Department and chose to participate in international exhibitions, where was given the opportunity to present the products in a more broad and diverse audience. The acceptance was unexpected and it gave strength and motivation for further exports growth.

The company constantly invests in the latest technical equipment and fleet of trucks, in the proper training of human resources and the absolute maintenance of consistently high quality and unique homemade taste of its products, having integrated quality assurance systems EN ISO 22000: 2005, BRC, IFS. The structure of the company is flat and there is a direct communication in order to spread throughout the company ideas and knowledge and practices. International exhibitions remain a sales development tool and communication with partners and customers. Evoiki Zimi via exports came close to different cultures, with different flavors and quality characteristics, improving by this way the production techniques and giving impulses to create new products. Future plans remain actively seeking new fruitful markets and at the same time developing the existing ones either with new products or new distribution channels.
