
Chicken & Zaatar Pizza
Ingredients
For the Dough
- 1/4 Cup Yogurt (greek or plain)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1/2 tbsp Yeast
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Tazah Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2.5 Cups All purpose flour
For the Toppings
- 2 tbsp Tazah Zaatar
- 2-3 tbsp Tazah Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Shredded chicken (i used about 1 1/2 cup leftover chicken spiced with zaatar)
- 1 Cup Mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 Cup Red onion
- 1/3 Cup Cherry tomato
Instructions
For the Dough
- In a medium bowl, add yogurt, sugar, yeast, salt, milk and whisk well.
- Then add only 1 cup flour and stir until well combined.
- Cover and let rest for 30-40 mins until frothy.
- Add the rest of the flour and olive oil gradually.
- Knead until you have a soft dough.
- Add more flour if your dough is too sticky.
- Cover the dough and leave it in warm place for 20 mins, until the dough rises and doubles in size.
For the Toppings
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
- Cut the dough into 4 pieces, and spread out one piece evenly and set aside.
- In a small bowl mix together zaatar and olive oil.
- Spread the zaatar mixture over the dough.
- Drizzle the mozzarella cheese (leave some to add at the end)
- Then add the shredded chicken (spiced with zaatar), red onion, tomatoes, and more cheese.
- Add a sprinkle of zaatar.
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and place on the middle or top rack.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is browned and the crust is golden (Broil if necessary).
